If you’re a fan of synth pop and electronica we have a spectacular night for you at INSANE IN THE MAINFRAME!

Our headliner for the night are OFFICE FOR PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT who are coming over for their debut Worthing show. They’re a synth pop trio from Bexhill who are building a major following over on the East (Sussex) side and having seen them win over a crowd of a 1000 people in Bexhill at a spectacular show before Christmas we are SO excited to be bringing them to the Cellar Arts Club!

Following several festival appearances last year and a session for John Kennedy on Radio X they’re releasing their debut album “Doing. Is. Thinking” on the 1st of March – Martyn Ware of Heaven 17 has described the band and album as “AMAZING” and Pete Fowler – illustrator of the fabulous Super Furry Animals’ albums – has aptly described them as “Heaven 17 v2.0”

Armed with a fun aesthetic of corporate motivational team building and a sound which harkens back to the classic 80s synth pop sound of Heaven 17 and Human League, as well as other acts such as Buggles and Landscape we’re sure they’re going to absolutely win over the hearts and minds of the people of Worthing feeling us all fully motivated!

Complementing the OPD we have two local support acts…

MONZEN NAKACHO has built a strong local following with his fantastic cinematic synthwave (and I should know as he created a brilliant soundtrack for my film Goodnight, Halloween) – if you’re a fan of the synthwave genre, soundtrack composers such as John Carpenter, Goblin, Fabio Frizzi etc then this is the act for you!

First on the bill for the night is AMONGST THE PIGEONS who creates playful, wonky, psychedelic electronica which (perhaps pun intended) can’t be pigeonholded…but can be found straddling a sound between Autechre and Lemon Jelly, or Orbital and Pet Shop Boys, maybe Boards Of Canada and Gary Numan – who knows where his flights of fancy will take us on the night?

The acts will have a variety of albums and merch available on the night, so BRING CASH if you want to support them further with any purchases!

Keeping the night going between the acts and keeping your feet moving after the live entertainment we will have WHITE DENIM DREAMS DJ’s playing a selection of synth pop, dance and electronica classics and lesser known oddities until late!

Tickets are £8 in advance, £10 on the door/ day with free entry after 10.30pm once the acts have finished.

Please note this is a ticketless event – you will need your order number/ email receipt to gain entry to the show.

This event plants trees – for each ticket purchased we will plant one tree with #nomusiconadeadplanet
